Competitor & Source Map

When your brand doesn’t appear in Google’s AI Mode answers, someone else’s does. The Competitor & Source Map shows you exactly who — and which sites Google trusts as sources — so you know where to compete and where to pitch.

What it shows

Every AI-surface scan records not just whether you appeared, but every other brand and domain that surfaced in the answers for your tracked keywords. The map organises that into two actionable lists: who is winning the answers you want, and who Google listens to when writing them.

The two cards

Competitors dominating AI Mode

The brands from your tracked competitor list that appear in AI Mode answers for your keywords, ranked by how often they surface. If a competitor shows up on keywords where you don't, that is your clearest visibility gap — those are the answers you are losing today.

Who Google AI Mode cites

The domains Google actually cites as sources when it writes AI Mode answers for your keywords. Treat this as your GEO/PR target list: getting mentioned, reviewed, or featured on these sites puts you inside the sources Google reads before it writes.

Per-keyword breakdown

Expand any keyword to see who appeared for that specific query — which competitors were named and which sources were cited. This is where you spot patterns: a competitor owning one topic cluster, or a single publication cited across many of your keywords.

Tagging depends on your Competitor list. A surfaced brand is classified as a competitor only if it is on the brand's tracked Competitor list — anything unrecognised is treated as a source or filtered as noise. Add your real competitors under Settings → Competitors, then re-scan, so everyone is classified correctly.

Noise is filtered

Generic domains — URL shorteners, utility pages, and other non-informative results — are filtered out automatically, so the map only shows brands and sources that actually matter for your visibility.
